The current event that has changed my life the most in 2020 is the presidential election. This event is important to me because after doing research and educating myself, I would like to educate others who are of age to vote. The presidential election has also drawn in different perspectives of some other parts of politics. I’m one to voice my opinions and allow others to voice theirs. Hearing others’ opinions helps me educate myself more.

 I started learning about politics when the election started becoming a conversation. Once I did a lot of research, I was able to form my own opinions for different political conversations. Since then, I’m still always researching different political topics to debate and inform other people on.

 In addition to forming my own opinions, this event has also changed my life because I’ve been educating myself instead of wasting my time on social media, going places, etc. Instead of doing other things, I’m on my laptop doing research. Because of this, I taught myself how to focus, find reliable sources, and improved my reading and listening skills. If I’m not researching, I’m debating with other people and listening to their views and beliefs.

Lastly, this event has changed my life because I’ve learned to not be afraid to use my voice and speak up for what I believe is right. From learning about the presidential election, I know who I think is right for the job, and who I think will do well for America. Although I’m not able to vote yet, I want to make it clear for other people my age to have their own opinions and beliefs. From the information I learned, I won’t invalidate other opinions, but I will use it to educate them. 

In conclusion, the event that happened in 2020 that changed my life the most was the presidential election. In this coming election, the candidates have completely different views on what would make America a better place, which is why November 3rd will be a very interesting day.
